Wedges Inspection and Assembly

Project Overview:

Manufacturing quality and precision for wedge parts is very crucial in the manufacturing process. Its traditional manual inspection and assembly are slow and based on human error. In an endeavor to address these problems, there was a proposal of AI-based vision inspection system to inspect and assemble parts of wedges.

Problem Statement: 

Manual inspection and assembling wedges parts are inefficient, as well as fail to detect all defects, which lowers the quality of the product. An automated solution is required for enhancing accuracy, reducing the time required for inspection, and enhancing overall efficiency.

Solution Proposed: 

A customized AI-based vision inspection system was designed for the automatic inspection and assembly of wedges parts. The system uses advanced cameras to inspect the final assembly parts, detect defects, and classify parts into accept and reject bins. Accepted parts are then automatically assembled.

Impact:

Results Obtained after Implementing AI-based Vision Inspection System:

It showed significant improvements, as mentioned below:
